Ginette Mfutila Makiese scored a double-double as First Bank remained unbeaten in four games at the FIBA Africa Champions Cup for Women (FIBAACCW) in Maputo.

First Bank defeated I.N.S.S from Democratic Republic of Congo 83-45 points on Wednesday.

Makiese had 15 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists. She shot 5 for 10, 5/5 from the line,1 block and 1 steal in 28 minutes.

Four other players finished on double figures: Sarah Ogoke (12), Malaika Green (13), Nkechi Akashili (11) while Aisha Mohammed made 14 rebounds and 3 steals.

The Elephant Girls had a 40-17 lead at the end of the first half frustrating their Congolese opponents on the offense for much of the game.

The Congolese side suffered a turn over of 24 recording 25.8% FG in the entire game.

Nigeria’s First Bank finished as Group B winners and will take on FAP from Cameroon while Group A winners, five-time champions InterClube of Angola will face Madagascar’s MB2ALL.
