Enyimba defender Adamu Yazid, speaking ahead of his side’s game against Doma United in Gombe on Saturday, has spoken about their quest to pick up all three points, reports www.aclsports.com.
The nine-time Nigerian champions started the season on a losing note at Niger Tornadoes, but had their second game of the new season rescheduled due to Shooting Stars’ continental assignment.
For match day three action, they are guests of high-flying Doma United at the Pantami Stadium on Saturday.
“We are here to take home three points,” the former Bendel Insurance defender told Enyimba media.
”We are not here to draw or lose the game. And by the grace of God, we are going to win. The way I see the players, from the time when we got to Gombe, to the training we had yesterday, I know that everybody has the confidence, and we are going to win the game,” Yazid added.
In his final words, Yazid urged the fans to pray for the side and support them as they take to the pitch in their first points of the season.
“The message I have for our fans is that they should pray for us. You know in football, sometimes the prayers from the fans motivate the players. So I believe if they do that, we will do our part here and are going to give our best to win the game, Inshallah,” Yazid concluded.
The game between Doma United, who have won their first two games of the season, and Enyimba will be played at 4pm on Saturday.
