Former Nigeria U20 goalkeeper, Sanni Bature has explained the reason behind his choice to join TojeMarine HC ahead of the 2024 Ardova Handball Premier League in Benin, Edo state.

Bature won the 2022 Prudent Energy Premier Handball League with Kano Pillars HC.

The former Lagos Seadisers HC player told www.aclsports.com that his decision to join TojeMarine HC was a personal move and an opportunity to play under a technically sound coach.

He said, “I am sure people will not be surprised with my move to TojeMarine HC; one of the biggest and result oriented clubs in Southern Nigeria. I made a personal decision not to leave the Center of Excellence (Lagos State) and the best option was to play for them. I want to play under a good coach, vibrant and tactical team; Tojemarine HC was the best option.

“After my little sojourn outside Nigeria, I am confident of making my new club proud during the league. I know the terrain like the back of my hands because I have previously played for Lagos Seasiders and Kano Pillars. I am going to give my best for the team coach; to whom much is given, much is expected”.

Bature revealed that training with the club during the build up to the league has help bond everyone he previously played with and against.

He promised fans of the club to expect top saves during the first phase of the Ardova Handball Premier League 2024.

He said, “I have been training seriously with the team and we had a close camp before the commencement of the league. The players enjoyed synergy from the coaches and management of the club. The players are fired up to do the unexpected this season, all things been equal.

“My fans should be expecting the very best of me during the league and scintillating handball display from Tojemaarine Academy as usual”
