Nigeria U17 women’s national team, the Flamingos, have arrived in Abidjan ahead of the 2026 WAFU B U17 Girls Cup, www.aclsports.com reports.
The Flamingos departed Abuja on Monday morning and will head to Yamoussoukro for the tournament, which runs from 15–28 September.
Following Benin Republic’s withdrawal, the Flamingos will now face Niger Republic in their opening game on Wednesday instead of Ghana’s Princesses, with the Nigeria-Ghana clash moved to Saturday. Hosts Cote d’Ivoire face Togo on Tuesday, while Ghana take on Burkina Faso. On Friday, Togo meet Niger Republic and Burkina Faso face the hosts.
Coach Hakeem Busari has selected 20 players for the competition, which will serve as part of the Flamingos’ preparations for the 2026 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup.
