Para Powerlifting: Omolayo feels good competing in Nigeria

2016 Rio Paralympics Champion, Bose Omolayo has expressed excitement competing in an international championship for the first time in Nigeria.

Omolayo will compete in the women’s 79kg on Wednesday at the ongoing International Para Powerlifting Championships in Lagos.

The Delta born lifter told www.aclsports.com that the team has always brought glory to the nation outside the shores of Nigeria.

She said, “It is a great pleasure featuring in an international championships hosted in my country. Most times, we always go outside the country and win medals but this time, Nigeria is hosting and we will not disappoint.

“I am not bothered or tensed because the gold medal is staying at home by the grace of God”.

She revealed that the coaching crew led by Are Feyisetan has been excellent in their closed camp.

The World Record holder told www.aclsports.com that the championships will be used as a build up to the 2018 All African Games in Morocco.
