Late drama in Lafia saw Nasarawa Amazons claim a crucial win, Dannaz Ladies hit five past Delta Queens in Lagos, and Robo Queens’ lead at the top narrowed, with significant movement across both groups on Matchday 14 of the NWFL Premiership, www.aclsports.com reports.

At the Lafia City Stadium, a late penalty converted by Jumoke Alani secured Nasarawa Amazons a vital 1-0 victory over Remo Stars Ladies. The narrow win lifted the Amazons back into the top three, while dealing a significant blow to Remo’s Super Six qualification hopes.

In Lagos, at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Dannaz Ladies produced one of the most dramatic results of the round, defeating Delta Queens 5-3 in an eight-goal thriller. An early own goal set the tone before Zainab Raji added a quick second. Delta responded through Destiny Itobore, but Ulumma Korie restored the cushion before the break. The visitors stayed in contention with a brace from Oghenebrume Ikekhua, yet another goal from Korie and a late strike from Solaty Fatimoh ensured Dannaz secured all three points emphatically.

FC Robo Queens were held to a 1-1 draw on the road by Ahudiyannem Queens. Uduakobong Monday Peter gave the hosts an early lead, but Oluwakemi Adegbuyi responded after the break with her seventh goal of the season, earning Robo a share of the spoils and narrowing their lead at the summit to three points. The result extended Ahudiyannem’s unbeaten run to five matches, highlighting their rise up the standings.

Sunshine Queens edged Abia Angels 1-0 in Akure, with Aishat Adebowale’s early strike enough to separate the sides. The victory marked a winning start for new head coach Tayo Onilude. Meanwhile, in Ile-Ogbo, Osun Babes claimed a narrow 1-0 victory over Confluence Queens, thanks to a goal from Precious Paul.

In Port Harcourt, Rivers Angels delivered a commanding performance to beat Adamawa Queens 3-0. Taiwo Ajibade netted twice in the first half before Grace Saliu added a third after the interval. Similarly, Bayelsa Queens recorded a comfortable 3-0 win over Ibom Angels in Yenagoa. Chiamaka Ezekwugo opened the scoring, Kindness Ifeanyi doubled the lead with her sixth of the season, and Chidi Harmony marked her return from injury with a third.

Elsewhere, Heartland Queens and Pacesetter Queens played out a 1-1 draw in Owerri, with goals from Faith Samson and Temitayo Aduamomi. In Abuja, Ekiti Queens came from behind to defeat Naija Ratels 2-1, overturning Paulina Orshio’s opener through goals from Patience Yaro and Ismail Zaniab.

Table Implications

In Group A, Bayelsa Queens top the table on goal difference, level with Rivers Angels on 30 points, while Edo Queens sit third with 28 points. The race for the Super Six remains finely balanced, with four rounds of matches to go.

In Group B, FC Robo Queens maintain top spot with 29 points despite dropping points, although their lead has narrowed. Nasarawa Amazons climb to second with 26 points, while Abia Angels occupy third with 24 points. Remo Stars Ladies fall out of Super Six contention following their defeat.

At the bottom, Dannaz Ladies move out of the relegation zone after their emphatic win, while Confluence Queens slip further down. Osun Babes remain bottom despite taking maximum points, with only five points separating fifth position from sides in the drop zone as the season enters its decisive phase.
