Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side Warri Wolves have sacked their head coach Evans Ogenyi after a run of dismal results, reports www.aclsports.com

Ogenyi’s sack was communicated to the press by the club’s Chief Executive, Moses Etu, shortly after their lacklustre 0-0 draw with Jigawa Golden Stars at the Delta State Polytechnic, Ozoro on Wednesday evening.

The draw meant that Warri Wolves have won just one of their last seven league matches and have now failed to win any of their last three games at home.

Consequence of these is the team’s placement on the NPFL log, currently 17th and deep in relegation waters.

“We have relieved Evans Ogenyi of his job as the team’s technical adviser,” began Etu.

“Coach Paul Offor will be in charge of the team, pending when we will appoint a new technical adviser.”

“We thank him (Ogenyi) for his time with us and wish him all the best for the future.”

Warri Wolves will face Heartland FC in their next league game at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri on Sunday.

Apart from Wolves’ 0-0 draw with Jigawa Golden Stars on Wednesday, there were home wins for Akwa United, Rivers United, Kano Pillars and Heartland FC.
