Venus Williams came from a set down to beat Caroline Garcia 6-7 (3-7) 6-2 6-3 to reach the final of the WTA Finals in Singapore. The 37 year old becomes the oldest woman ever to reach the final and book a mouthwatering final clash with inform Caroline Wozniacki.

Williams overtakes 36 year old Martina Navratilova (in 1992) as the oldest woman to reach the final of the season-ending tournament.

Earlier, Wozniacki saw off Czech Karolina Pliskova 7-6 (11-9) 6-3 in the other semi-final match to reach her first WTA final in seven years. Wozniacki goes on to meet Williams in the final on Sunday who last won the WTA Finals in 2009.

Wozniacki celebrates qualification for the final

Third seed Pliskova would have taken the number one spot from Simona Halep if she had won the title in Singapore.
Halep will become the 13th woman to end the season as world number 1 and first Romanian since the inception of the rankings in 1975.
