An inspired Maduka Okoye was solid between the sticks to help his side, Udinese, earn a point in the goalless draw away to Parma in Serie A on Wednesday, reports www.aclsports.com.
The Super Eagles goalkeeper made two saves, including a penalty stop in the encounter to keep his first clean sheet of the 2026/27 league season.
Udinese had shipped 18 goals in their first eight league matches without a clean sheet and entered the encounter after six consecutive defeats. Their result at the Stadio Ennio Tardini therefore offered a much-needed reprieve.
Parma barely tested Okoye during the contest, but just after the hour mark, they were awarded a penalty after a lengthy VAR check. Two minutes later, Okoye denied Adrián Bernabé from the penalty spot, diving low to his left to keep out the midfielder’s left-footed effort after reading the direction correctly.
Udinese eventually secured a point to bring their six-match losing run to an end, with Okoye playing a key role through his crucial penalty save. The Nigerian goalkeeper also capped his impressive display with a clean sheet.
Udinese face AS Roma on Saturday, with Okoye hoping to carry his midweek form into the encounter and deliver another impressive performance.
