In Ilorin, Kwara United ended Shooting Stars’ eight games unbeaten run with a 2-0 win. Goals from captain Kabir Muhammad and Abdullahi Ojifinni secured a sixth successive home win for the Harmony Boys. The win propelled Kwara United to eighth on the log, while Shooting Stars stay in second spot, eight points adrift of league leaders Remo Stars.

Meanwhile, former Shooting Stars striker Kayode Oke scored the only goal as Bendel Insurance defeated Enyimba, who had Innocent Gabriel sent off, 1-0 in Benin City. With the win, the Benin Arsenal moved four points above the bottom four, while Enyimba dropped to 10th.

In Kano, Kano Pillars beat Elkanemi Warriors 2-1 to return to winning ways for the first time in four games. Rabiu Ali converted a penalty to hand Sai Masu Gida the lead just after the hour mark before the Federation Cup champions equalized through Al-Amin Umar moments later. The game’s winning goal came in stoppage time when Rashid Alassan converted Abdullahi Ali’s delivery. Kano Pillars moved into the top half of the log with the win, while Elkanemi Warriors stay in sixth spot on the table.

Action continues in the league this weekend when Match Day 24 takes centre stage across the country.
