2021 National Youth Games Champion, Avani Goel told www.aclsports.com that she wants to win medals for Nigeria at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.

Avani Goel won three gold medals in the girl’s gymnastics event at the just concluded 6th National Youth Games in Ilorin, Kwara state.

Goel who started Gymnastics in 2017 revealed that Nigeria has given her the opportunity to become a good gymnast adding that Nigeria made her become a champion.

She said, “I want to wear the colours of Nigeria and represent the country at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. I have attended various the National Youth Games and National Sports Festival so my next bus stop is the Commonwealth Games.

“I am ready to attend any trials organised by the Gymnastics Federation of Nigeria and I am optimistic I will come out victorious.”

“Nigeria has made me a good gymnast and I feel it is proper to represent the country that made me who I am today”, she added.

Goel thanked her personal coaches, Michael Ocheke and Helen Ocheke for impacting her with the relevant gymnastics knowledge and skills.
