Nigeria Immigrations Service volleyball teams have been relegated from the Comptroller General of Customs Service Volleyball Premier League, www.aclsports.com reports.

In the men’s category, Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) and Spartans Spikers, along with Kwara United and Nigeria Immigration Service in the women’s category, found themselves at the bottom of the standings, marking a bitter end to their campaigns.

For the men’s teams, the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) finished in 11th place with 16 points, just shy of avoiding relegation. Despite their best efforts, the team struggled to maintain consistency throughout the season, ultimately unable to break free from the lower part of the table.

At the very bottom of the men’s table was the Spartans Spikers, with just one point from the entire season. Their struggles were evident from the start, and despite their resilience, they were unable to register any significant wins recording 20 losses. The team’s performance was a tough pill to swallow, as they failed to pick up the points necessary to avoid the drop, leaving them relegated after a difficult season.

On the women’s side, Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) finished 11th position with 14 points to be relegated for the first time in history. NIS was tied on the same point with Anambra Queens but the Eastern team won more sets than the Immigration ladies

Kwara United VC failed to show up for their matches at the 2024 CGC Volleyball Premier League, a situation that led to their automatic relegation. Their absence from the competition left fans and fellow teams disappointed, as they had expected the team to contribute to the excitement of the league. Without any games played or points earned, Kwara United found themselves relegated by default.

Volleyball pundits appealed to the Comptroller General of Nigeria Immigration Service, Kemi Nandap to employ sportsmen and women to replace the aging athletes across the board.

Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) Spikers and Nigeria Customs Service emerged champions of the 2024 Comptroller General of Customs Service Volleyball Premier League in the men’s and women’s categories respectively.
