Team captain William Troost-Ekong was among the players who arrived at the team’s base – RIVE Hotel – on Sunday night. He joined the England-based quartet of Calvin Bassey, Alex Iwobi, Samuel Chukwueze, and Tolu Arokodare, while Russia-based Olakunle Olusegun and vice-captain Wilfred Ndidi, who had arrived earlier in the day.

The number of players in camp increased further earlier on Monday after the arrival of Moses Simon, Chidozie Awaziem, Amas Obasogie, Ademola Lookman, and Semi Ajayi, while Akor Adams and Chidera Ejuke arrived before the first training session. However, they had to spend time with the fitness trainer. Striker Victor Osimhen and two other players are still expected this night ahead of the crucial game against Gabon on Thursday evening.
