Striker Victor Osimhen enjoyed another goalscoring night in the UEFA Champions as his hat-trick led Galatasaray to a comfortable 3-0 win over Ajax in Amsterdam on Wednesday night, www.aclsports.com reports.
Osimhen, who helped the Super Eagles of Nigeria reach the 2026 World Cup playoffs in October, has been in a rich vein of form, and he showed his class once again to lead the Turkish champions to their third successive win in Europe.
After a goalless first half at Johan Cruijff Arena, Victor Osimhen took matters into his own hands to alter the scoreline. Just before the hour mark, Osimhen headed home a teasing cross from Leroy Sane to give his side the lead before going ahead to score two more goals from the spot in the 65th and 78th minutes of the encounter to complete his hat-trick. Osimhen was then replaced by Mauro Icardi ten minutes from time, as Gala secured their third win in the UEFA Champions League this season.
Having scored in his previous two UCL appearances against Liverpool and Bodo, the 26-year-old striker, with his hat-trick, has now increased his tally in the competition to six goals.
Meanwhile, Super Eagles midfielder Raphael Onyedika played 84 minutes in Club Brugge’s impressive 3-3 draw against Barcelona at Jan Breydel Stadion in Brugge. In France, forward Ademola Lookman, who had a goal disallowed for offside, helped Atalanta defeat Marseille 1-0 as the Bergamo side picked up their second UCL win of the season.
