CAF Goalkeeper of the Year, Chiamaka Nnadozie, has been nominated for the Barclays Women’s Super League Save of the Season award following her standout debut campaign with Brighton & Hove Albion Women, www.aclsports.com reports.

The Super Falcons shot-stopper earned the nomination for her stunning save during Brighton’s 1–1 draw against Liverpool Women on Matchday 8 in November, when she brilliantly tipped Fuka Nagano’s powerful long-range effort onto the crossbar. The save had earlier won the monthly award in November, further underlining its quality.

Since arriving in England, she has continued to impress, keeping six league clean sheets, the second-highest tally in the division, and eight in all competitions. Her 62 saves are the most by any goalkeeper in the league this season, while she is yet to concede in the Women’s FA Cup, helping Brighton reach the semi-finals where they will face Liverpool.

Nnadozie is shortlisted alongside Janina Leitzig of Leicester City Women, Daphne van Domselaar of Arsenal Women, who has two saves nominated, as well as Anneke Borbe, Ayaka Yamashita of Manchester City Women, and Elene Lete of London City Lionesses.

Voting for the award is now open on the Barclays Women’s Super League official website and will close on 13 May at 5pm.
