The UEFA Champions League trophy will make a tour to Ivory Coast between March 17 and 18 this year, according to a statement released in Abidjan on Tuesday by the competition’s official sponsor Heineken.

Dubbed ‘UEFA Champions League Trophy Tour’, the event aims at bringing the magic of the trophy to life in the chosen country by creating unforgettable moments of communion between fans of world football and the UEFA Champions League, according to the organisers.

“Heineken has chosen Ivory Coast this year among other nations of football, to allow Ivorian fans to be closer to their idols and appreciate directly the trophy for which the best players in the world compete,” the statement read.

“We want to give the opportunity to all Ivorian fans of the UEFA Champions League outside Europe, to experience intense and unique moments, which will allow them to share the emotions, the suspense and the joy of each match of UEFA Champions League,” it added.
