Pamela Bawa and Joy Lawrence have reached the women’s Beach Volleyball quarter-finals at the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games after defeating Thailand 2-0 in their Round of 16 match on Monday, www.aclsports.com reports.

The Nigerian pair took control of the Round of 16 contest to claim a straight-sets victory, winning the opening set 21-16 before wrapping up the match 21-13 in the second at Saly Beach West, Court 3, to book their place in the last eight.

Bawa and Lawrence will take on Jara Both and Matilda de Groot of the Netherlands in the quarter-finals on Day 4 of the competition.

Mathew Kuti’s hopes of reaching the men’s singles Round of 16 in Table Tennis ended after he lost 3-0 to Italy’s Francesco Trevisan in his third Group 5 match.
