“I’m not relenting; I’m working and hoping for the best in 2025. With the strong synergy in the Nigeria Customs Service team, I am confident that we are only getting stronger. The synergy is so strong now, and we are stronger and better,” she added.

“Winning the Best Setter award is a thing of joy for me. It shows that all my hard work paid off. This recognition wasn’t just a personal victory, but a testament to her commitment and tireless efforts over the course of the season”.

“Winning the 2024 Premier League is a big achievement for me when we talk about sports in Nigeria,” she explained, emphasising the importance of the team’s collective success in the context of the sport’s landscape in the country”, she added.

The former Benue Queens player said her success is driven by a deep sense of determination, dedication, and faith.

“I have three keywords that push me in my daily activities: Determination, plenty of hard work, and, above all, the grace of God by my side.

“These guiding principles have become my mantra, enabling me to continue striving for excellence both on and off the court”, she told www.aclsports.com

Umaru expressed gratitude for the unwavering encouragement she receives from her husband, particularly highlighting his role in balancing family life and her athletic career.

“From the very first day we met in the volleyball court, he has never stopped supporting me, from helping with our baby while I train to joining in training just to motivate me. He is my support system,”
