“I have achieved my targets with the CNS Spikers. The 2024 CGC Volleyball Premier League was one of the most competitive seasons we’ve ever experienced. Every match was a battle, and the level of play was incredibly high.
“However, I am proud to say that our team rose to the occasion,” Mohammed added.
“The players exhibited tremendous determination, discipline, and resilience, which ultimately led us to victory in the 2024 CGC Volleyball Premier League.”
He added, “In 2023, I guided the CNS Spikers to a well deserved title in the National Division 1 Volleyball League, following our 2022 triumph in the National Division 2 Volleyball League”
“I’ve always believed in focusing on the fundamentals ensuring that the players understand the importance of teamwork, discipline, and hard work,” Mohammed explained.
“But beyond that, we emphasize mental toughness and the ability to adapt to different situations during matches.”
Reflecting on his journey, Mohammed emphasized the importance of strategic planning, player development, and maintaining high standards.
“My approach has always been to focus on the fundamentals, building a strong foundation of teamwork, discipline, and mental toughness,” he explained.
“These principles have been crucial to our success with the CNS Spikers, and I believe they are vital for any team striving for greatness.”
Looking back at his time with the team, Mohammed expressed immense pride in the progress made and the development of the players under his guidance.
“It’s been a fulfilling experience leading the CNS Spikers. We’ve met our targets, but the journey doesn’t end here. We will continue striving for even greater success in the future,” he said.
“I want to thank the previous and present Chief of Naval Staff, the former coordinator of CNS Spikers, Commodore Aliyu Pindar; the current coordinator of CNS Spikers, Commodore Mohammed Muye; and entire CNS Spikers team for the opportunity to handle the great club”, Mohammed said.
Before taking the helm at CNS Spikers, Mohammed had a distinguished career with Nigeria’s National U19 and U21 teams.
His tenure as head coach of the U19 team was especially fruitful, as the squad clinched the African Championship title three times. Mohammed also had the honour of attending two FIVB World U19 Boys Volleyball Championships, further solidifying his international coaching credentials.
