Nigeria U20 women’s team coach Moses Aduku and Team Administrator Kelechi Omeke will attend the draw ceremony for the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup on Friday, 15 May, in Łódź, Poland, www.aclsports.com reports.

The ceremony will take place at the EC1 Cultural Centre ahead of the tournament, which is scheduled to hold from 5–27 September 2026 across the Polish cities of Bielsko-Biała, Katowice, Łódź and Sosnowiec.

Nigeria secured qualification for the competition alongside fellow African representatives Benin, Ghana and Tanzania, completing Africa’s four-team line-up for the tournament.

Ahead of Friday’s ceremony, FIFA has seeded the 24 participating nations into four pots of six teams each, from which six groups will be formed.

Pot 1: Poland, Japan, Spain, North Korea, Brazil, France.
Pot 2: USA, Nigeria, Colombia, Mexico, Canada, New Zealand.
Pot 3: South Korea, England, Ghana, Argentina, China, Italy.
Pot 4: Portugal, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Benin Republic, Tanzania, New Caledonia.

The Falconets, who have featured in every edition of the competition since its inception, remain among the seeded sides in Pot 2.

This year’s tournament will also welcome six debutants, including hosts Poland, Portugal, New Caledonia, Ecuador, Tanzania and Benin, adding a fresh dimension to the competition.

Meanwhile, Germany, who defeated Nigeria in the finals of the 2010 and 2014 editions, will miss the tournament for the first time in its history.

Nigeria’s U20 women’s side will hope for a favourable draw as they continue their pursuit of a maiden world title, having finished as runners-up twice at the global showpiece.
