Super Eagles striker Akor Adams emerged as the match-winner for Sevilla on Wednesday night, scoring the decisive goal in their thrilling 3-2 LaLiga victory over Villarreal, www.aclsports.com reports.

Adams, 26, played a key role in the Andalusian side’s dramatic comeback win at Estadio de la Cerámica. The win crucially helped Sevilla boost their survival chances, as they went four points clear of the drop zone with two games to go.

Sevilla, who started the day just a point above the relegation zone, were dealt a huge blow as they went 2-0 down in the opening 20 minutes. Georges Mikautadze squared to Gerard Moreno, who finished into the bottom corner for the lead in the 13th minute.

Things then got worse for the visitors in the 20th minute, when Nicolas Pépé threaded the ball through to Alberto Moleiro at the byline, who sent the ball to the back post for Mikautadze to tap home.

But ten minutes before the break, the visitors got themselves back on level terms. Oso with a fine finish to pull one back before Kike Salas sent a sweet half-volley into the back of the net for the leveller.

With 18 minutes to play, the home crowd was stunned as the visitors completed the turnaround. The trio of Alexis Sánchez, Juanlu Sánchez, and Djibril Sow worked the ball across the area to Akor Adams, who rifled it past Tenas at the near post.

In the end, Sevilla ended a run of four consecutive away defeats to move up to 43 points on the log with two games to go. As for Akor Adams, he took his season tally to 10 La Liga goals and three assists across 30 appearances for the side.
