The Head Coach of Cameroon U18 Girls Volleyball team, Emile Tongtong said his aim is to lift the 2021 African Nations Volleyball Championship trophy in Abuja.
Tongtong disclosed this to www.aclsports.com during the team’s training session at the indoor sports hall of the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja on Wednesday.
The Cameroonian gaffer said his girls are hungry for victory and will leave no stone unturned to get the trophy.
He said, “I am in Nigeria for a purpose and that is to lift the U18 Girls 2021 African Nations Volleyball Championship trophy. I have a lot of respect for the host country outside the court but when it comes to business on the court, the respect is no longer there.
“My players are hungry for glory, the girls were competition starved last year and we plan to pour out our anger on the court”.
Tongtong commended the Nigeria Volleyball Federation for creating an enabling environment for volleyball to thrive in West Africa.
He said, “I have heard a lot about the Nigeria Volleyball Federation and their programs. Nigeria hosted the U21 African Nations Volleyball Championship three years ago and now they are hosting the U18 Girls and U19 Boys; this means volleyball is thriving in West Africa through the Musa Nimrod led Nigeria Volleyball Federation”.
