The Disciplinary Board of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced that it has fined and banned Tanzania head coach Adel Amrouche for bringing the Confederation to disrepute.
Amrouche caused a serious storm in his pre-match comments ahead of their Group F clash on Tuesday, tacitly claiming that the Moroccan Football Federation RFMF controls CAF and African Football.
The Algerian said: “We recognize Morocco’s strength as an African power. Our request for 2 pm kickoff was denied, forcing us to play at night. It seems in African football, certain powers wield such influence now. We must learn to compete not only on the pitch against big teams but now some invincible factors too,”
The 55-year old appeared before the CAF Disciplinary Committee on Thursday and the punitive measures against him and the Tanzanian Football Federation have been affirmed.
