Fast-rising Nigerian football Academy, Stars Builders, on Friday announced the signing of a partnership agreement with Greenpeg Engineering ahead of the 2026/27 football season.
The announcement was made in a brief press event held at the Greenpeg Engineering Headquarters, Lagos, during which the management of Stars Builders disclosed that the partnership will help them to achieve more of their goals in accelerating the growth of the academy in no distant future.
“We are excited about this partnership with Stars Builders,” began Greenpeg Engineering’s MD, Bolaji Adekunle, to www.aclsports.com.
“There is an intersection between engineering and football. One of the parts is that we do have an academy here where we train a lot of people, young school leavers, and professionals, getting them ready for the industry and helping them find a place in life.
”What Stars Builders are doing is not entirely different from that. So it makes it easier for us from an impact perspective; the interest has grown so far and will continue to grow,” Adekunle added.
Greenpeg Engineering is a multifaceted engineering firm that specializes in procuring essential and hard-to-find industrial components, providing maintenance services, and constructing bespoke systems for industrial applications. For over a decade and a half, Greenpeg has been a driving force behind Africa’s industrial landscape.

Present at the partnership signing event were Greenpeg Engineering’s MD, Bolaji Adekunle; Chairman of Stars Builders Football Academy, Kayode Momoh; CEO of the Academy, Ayodeji Adegbenro; and Head Coach of the Academy, Jimmy Bello.
”We have been trying our best, and along the line, we realised that we needed partners who can help us grow. Thankfully, Greenpeg came along,” Stars Builders CEO, Ayodeji Adegbenro, spoke about the partnership.
”It is a partnership that started many years ago in a hostel room in FUTA about 25 years ago, even though we are just signing the papers now. Our values align, and Greenpeg is the perfect partner to accompany us on this journey. We do hope that this is the start of something beautiful and long-term.
”We want our growth to be organic, and that’s why we have remained there[NLO] for now. Hopefully, in a few years from now, we will be in the NPFL competing against Enyimba, Sporting Lagos, and the likes,” Adegbenro spoke about the future of the academy.
Since its establishment in 2021, Stars Builders have made rapid strides in Nigerian grassroots football. After winning the Ogun State League in their debut campaign in 2022, the academy achieved back-to-back promotions to reach the Nationwide League One (NLO), the third tier of Nigerian football, ahead of the new season.
In the few years of its existence, the Academy has served the Nigerian national teams apart from the Super Eagles. Segun Otusanya was part of the men’s U20 team under Ladan Bosso, while others like Suleiman Shehu and Ayodele Adeloye were nurtured by the academy and transferred abroad.
The event also saw Stars Builders reveal their home and away kits for the 2026/27 campaign, featuring Greenpeg Engineering as the academy’s new front-of-shirt sponsor.
