NPFL side Bendel Insurance have strengthened their squad with several new signings ahead of the 2026/27 league season, www.aclsports.com reports.
The Benin Arsenals confirmed the signings of Fatai Abdullahi, Suraj Lawal, Chukwuemeka Nwokeji and Sabiu Ibrahim, as they continue preparations ahead of the new campaign.
Abdullahi, a regular face in the league with stints at Ikorodu United, Enyimba and Rivers United, featured for Abia Warriors last season. He has signed a one-year deal with the Benin side. Similarly, Suraj Lawal, who also played for Abia Warriors last term, has put pen to paper on a deal until the end of the season.
Mifielder Sabiu Ibrahim, who was on the books of Niger Tornadoes last season, has signed a two-year contract with Bendel Insurance.
Meanwhile, former Remo Stars defender Chukwuemeka Nwokeji has signed a two-year deal with Insurance after a not-too-impressive stint at Enyimba last season. Nwokeji, who also featured for Sporting Lagos in their debut NPFL campaign, is expected to add some steel to Kennedy Boboye’s defence.
Previously, the Benin side confirmed the arrivals of Terdoo Shimagande and Joseph Godstime from Niger Tornadoes. The pair signed contracts until 2028.
Apart from the signings announced so far, Bendel Insurance is expected to wrap up more signings before the new season gets underway.
