Super Falcons stars played their part as their clubs secured qualification for the league phase of the 2026/27 UEFA Women’s Champions League on Wednesday, www.aclsports.com reports.
Rasheedat Ajibade came on in the second half, won a penalty and later scored PSG Féminine’s fifth goal deep into extra time as the French side defeated Eintracht Frankfurt 5-1 to progress 6-2 on aggregate. Jennifer Echegini started the game and provided the assist for the French side to take the lead before they added three more goals.
Toni Payne came off the bench as Inter Milan completed a remarkable comeback against two-time winners Wolfsburg, winning 3-1 after extra time to level the tie before edging the German side 5-4 on penalties.
Other Nigerians in the league phase include Shukurat Oladipo and Rinsola Babajide of AS Roma, as well as Oluwatosin Demehin, Flourish Sabastine and Janet Akekoromowei of Benfica. Both clubs qualified directly.
The 18 teams that have qualified for the league phase are Arsenal, Austria Wien, Barcelona, Bayern München, Benfica, Chelsea, Häcken, HB Køge, Inter, Juventus, Manchester City, OH Leuven, OL Lyonnes, Paris FC, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, Roma and Servette.
The league phase draw will take place in Nyon on Friday, September 4.
