Elkanemi Warriors, one of the Nigerian teams playing on the continent this season, have named a 23-man squad for the first-round first-leg clash against UDIB (Guinea-Bissau) in the CAF Confederation Cup, www.aclsports.com reports.
The Maiduguri side, who are Cup champions of Nigeria, will host the fixture on Saturday at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne before travelling to Bissau for the reverse fixture in a week’s time.

As confirmed by the club’s media officer, Coach Emmanuel King has selected 23 players for the game, including the likes of Nathaniel Asibe, Utibe Arit, Henry Ndedi, Ini Edem, Gbadamosi Jimoh, and Usman Abbas. The Warriors, who were relegated from the NPFL last season, have still not arrived in Ikenne at the time of writing this report.
This will be the second time the Warriors have hosted continental football in Ikenne, following their campaign there two seasons ago. It remains to be seen whether they can go one step further and progress beyond the first round this time around. Should they advance, they will face Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca for a place in the group stage.
The game against UDIB has been scheduled to go ahead at 4pm on Saturday.
