Just days after Ajibade Rasheedat bid farewell to Atlético Madrid Femenino here and months following Gift Monday’s switch from Liga F to Washington Spirit in the National Women’s Soccer League, another Super Falcons star is on the move. Nigerian forward Rinsola Babajide is set to leave Costa Adeje Tenerife, www.aclsports.com reports.
Babajide joined UDG Tenerife in July 2023 on a two-year deal following an 18-month stint with fellow Liga F side Real Betis. Over the course of her time at Tenerife, she solidified herself as a key player, making 56 league appearances, scoring 13 goals, and providing 12 assists.
Her influence was especially felt in key fixtures, notably a 5–1 rout of Deportivo, where she both scored and assisted, highlighting her versatility and attacking sharpness. Her consistency didn’t go unnoticed, earning her a national team call-up in October 2023. Since then, she has been capped five times by the Super Falcons of Nigeria.
The club officially announced her departure via their social media platforms, confirming that Babajide will be leaving alongside six other players; Blom, Bea Beltrán, Cheza, Silano, Sørbo, and Richard, wished them all well in their future careers.
Babajide also shared a heartfelt message on her personal X account, expressing gratitude to fans, teammates, and club staff. She described her time at the club as a proud chapter in her journey and extended best wishes to the Tenerife family.
Her departure marks the close of a pivotal period in her career; one defined by growth, resilience, and standout performances. While her next destination remains unknown, Babajide’s track record suggests she will continue to excel on any stage.
As she prepares for her next challenge, Rinsola Babajide leaves behind a legacy of determination and impact at UDG Tenerife, one that will be remembered fondly by fans and teammates alike.
