Super Eagles winger, Samuel Chukwueze, continued his newfound form for Fulham in their 2-1 win over Tottenham in the Premier League on Saturday night, www.aclsports.com reports.
The 26-year-old, who has made a slow start to life since moving to London on transfer deadline day, came off the bench to provide a match-winning assist against Sunderland last weekend.
Based on that performance, the AC Milan loanee was handed his first Premier League start, as there were also starts for regulars Calvin Bassey and Alex Iwobi.
Fulham and Chukwueze’s night got off to the best possible start when the winger went past his markers before his miscued pass set up Kenny Tete for Fulham’s opening goal in the 4th minute. Just two minutes later, the Cottagers doubled their advantage through Harry Wilson’s strike off goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario’s error. The hosts tried getting back in the game, but it was Chukwueze and Fulham who got the best goalscoring chances.
Chukwueze saw his effort go off the post before he was stopped in his tracks after dribbling past goalkeeper Vicario by Micky van de Ven, all in the first half. Despite Mohammed Kudus’ early second-half strike to halve the deficit, Fulham held on for their first win on the road in this season’s Premier League campaign.
It is now back-to-back assists for Chuwkwuze playing on the left under Marco Silva, it is expected that the winger will continue to get decent minutes based on his recent strong performances.
