For the NPFL, the agreement represents more than simply a new name for the competition. It could also strengthen the league’s commercial foundation, providing greater financial stability as stakeholders continue efforts to improve the quality, visibility and overall profile of domestic football.
According to the arrangement, the clubs are expected to receive 60% of the funds coming in from the new sponsor, while the league will be named EuroMatch NPFL for commercial purposes.
The 2026/27 season gets underway on Friday with a clash between Shooting Stars and Inter Lagos at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan.
