Sporting Lagos have taken a giant step towards the 2026 Nigeria National League (NNL) Super 4 title following a comfortable 4-0 win over Doma United in their second group game in Ikenne on Wednesday night, www.aclsports.com reports.
Having beaten Ranchers Bees, Sporting Lagos came into the second game hoping to extend their winning run against Doma United, who also defeated Inter Lagos on Monday.
Norway-bound Oluwaseun Akanji, who assisted the winning goal on Monday, delivered a moment of brilliance for the Lagosians as he weaved past a couple of defenders to give his side the lead just before the half-hour mark at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne.
After the break, the Tech Boys extended their advantage through Shola Oladunjoye, before captain Solomon Uloko scored twice in the final moments of the game to put the Savannah Scorpions to the sword.
Meanwhile, in the opening fixture of the day, Ranchers Bees suffered a 2-0 defeat to Inter Lagos, confirming their exit from the tournament.
After a cagey first half ended goalless, the Lagos-based side broke the deadlock shortly after the restart through Qoyum Akinpelu. Inter Lagos then doubled their advantage from the penalty spot, with stand-in captain Adebayo Oyedele calmly converting after Akinpelu was brought down in the box.
Only Bees have been eliminated, while the other three teams still hold a mathematical chance of clinching the title. All eyes will now be on the Lagos derby between Inter and Sporting, as it could prove decisive in determining the eventual champions.
