Beyond Limits youngster Merveille Akinocho has completed his move to La Liga side Villarreal, www.aclsports.com reports.
Akinocho, who was born and raised in the Republic of Benin before moving to Nigeria to join Beyond Limits two years ago, lit up the Creative Championship and the Nigeria National League (NNL). He has now completed a move to the Spanish giants and has put pen to paper on a six-year deal.
The striker had already tried to join Villarreal in Spain with his family last year. However, strict regulations regarding the entry of underage foreign players prevented the transfer. He therefore had to wait until he was 18 before finalizing his move to the Yellow Submarines.
The Striker, who is eligible to play for Nigeria through his grandparents, recently turned down an invite from Benin U20.
Akinocho will initially join the under-19 team to continue his development and gain experience in European football. He will also have the opportunity to participate in important competitions such as the Youth League, as he hopes to break into the first team.
