Chairman of the Nigeria National League (NNL), George Aluo, is pleased with the organization and football being played at the ongoing 2026 NNL Super Four in Ikenne, www.aclsports.com reports.

The league supremo, who was speaking at the Remo Stars Stadium – the venue of the competition – on Wednesday night, added that the current board has successfully taken the Super Four to another level.

“We have been strict, and we have not allowed anybody to mess up the system. The backing we received from the NFF president helped us go all the way to ensure credibility.

”The referees have done a good job officiating under a relaxed atmosphere. Everything put together has been amazing, and I am really impressed,” Aluo told journalists on Day 3 of the Super 4.

In his remarks, he also rated the venue, which has helped the football being played, as one of the best pitches in the country

“The ambiance is very good. The stadium is world-class — outside the Nest of Champions in Uyo, this is the best in the country. The playing turf is fantastic, and the teams are playing very good football,” Aluo said.

Aluo particularly applauded the investment of Kunle Soname in the Remo Stars Stadium, noting that private sector involvement remains the future of Nigerian football.

“This is not a government-funded outfit. Kunle Soname has invested heavily in football, and today we are seeing one of the best facilities in the country here in Remo,” he said.

Meanwhile, Aluo expressed confidence that the newly promoted sides will be highly competitive in the NPFL next season, stressing that the early end to the NNL campaign gives the clubs ample time to adequately prepare for the new season.

“Unlike previous seasons where promoted teams had little time to prepare, these clubs now have an advantage because they can start planning early while the NPFL season is still ending,” he concluded.

Inter Lagos, Sporting Lagos, Doma United, and Ranchers Bees have all been promoted to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) for next season, but are in Ikenne to determine the overall winner of the NNL campaign.

Sporting Lagos took a giant step towards the title after Wednesday night’s win, and they will face Inter Lagos in their final group game on Friday. Eliminated Ranchers Bees will be up against Doma United in the other game.
