Head Coach of Crown FC, Deji Ayeni, is set to depart the club following their failure to secure promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) for the 2025/26 season, www.aclsports.com has exclusively gathered.

Ayeni, who led the Ajilete Warriors to the Nigeria National League playoffs in Asaba, has decided to leave the club.

Crown FC faced Kun Khalifat, Osun United and Warri Wolves at the promotion playoffs, but with just a point from the three games, they failed to pick one of the promotion tickets meant for the Conference.

A reliable source close to the coach has told ACLSports that the former Akwa United boss is set to leave the club in search of better opportunities. The source further revealed that the tactician is seeking a more stable working environment due to the club’s persistent failure to pay salaries.

Possible destinations include Sporting Lagos – who have already approached Ayeni – as well as Lobi Stars, Sunshine Stars, and Kano Pillars.

Ayeni, who has managed Sunshine Stars and Akwa United in the NPFL previously, is hoping to get another shot in the elite division.
