Jacob Ayuba says Kano Pillars Handball Club can withstand any handball team in Africa.

Kano Pillars won the 2019 Prudent Energy Handball League in Lagos.

Ayuba told www.aclsports.com that with the current form of Kano Pillars, the team stands a chance of shocking other opponents at any African Club Championships.

He said the standard of handball has improved compared to the last 8 years.

Ayuba said, “With our current form and standard, Kano Pillars can withstand any team in Africa including the North African teams. The only team in Nigeria that always gives us problem is Niger United but for sure, Kano Pillars will perform well at continental championships.

“If we storm any Africa Club Championship, our opponents will know that the standard of handball has improved compared to the last 8 years. Handball in Nigeria has a new face; the two years of Sam Ocheho as President of the Handball Federation of Nigeria, the game has changed drastically”.

The National Beach Handball player told www.aclsports.com that the Kano state sports commission chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Galadima and the head coach of the team, Solomon Yola were instrumental to the success of the team.

He said, “It is a pleasure lifting the 2019 Prudent Energy Handball League after fighting till the last day. The only trophy missing in the cabinet of Kano Pillars Sports Club is the handball league based on the standing.

“Last season, Kano Pillars finished 6th position which was a very shameful position. Before the resumption of the just concluded season, the sports commission chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Galadima gave us a good contract and charged us with the task of bringing the trophy to Kano state”.

He further said, “Alhaji Galadima said after winning the trophy the team can demand for whatever they want and thank God, with the help of the best coach in Nigeria, Solomon Yola we triumph in Lagos”.
