Happy Rasheed of Rivers State impressed from lane 8 to claim second place in 53.95s, while Miracle Uwem Donald of Lagos State fought hard from lane 1 to take third in 54.20s.

This record breaking run marks a strong return to form for Okon-George, a multiple-time national champion and one of Nigeria’s most consistent 400m athletes over the past decade.

The women’s 400m final added further excitement to an already thrilling athletics program at the National Sports Festival, which continues to showcase the depth of talent across the country.
