Nigeria Super Falcons’ Head Coach, Justine Madugu, has named captain Rasheedat Ajibade and 20 others in his squad for this month’s 2026 Women Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifying matches against Bénin Republic, www.aclsports.com reports.

Ajibade, who was voted Player of the Tournament at the 2024 WAFCON in Morocco, recently scored for her new club, Paris Saint-Germain, in their UEFA Women’s Champions League clash against Real Madrid.

Madugu’s squad also features Africa’s Goalkeeper of the Year Chiamaka Nnadozie, defenders Michelle Alozie and Ashleigh Plumptre, midfielders Jennifer Echegini and Deborah Abiodun, and forwards Asisat Oshoala, Chinwendu Ihezuo, and Esther Okoronkwo.

Notably, 22-year-old Joy Omewa earns her first call-up to the senior team after an impressive season in Denmark with Fortuna Hjørring, where she has already scored 13 goals. On the other hand, forward Gift Monday is missing from the squad despite her excellent form for her club side, while Chioma Okafor isn’t included and Rinsola Babajide misses out due to injury.

The two-leg tie will begin with the first leg at Stade Kégué in Lomé on Friday, 24th October, as Bénin Republic currently does not have a CAF-approved venue. The return leg is scheduled for the MKO Abiola Sports Complex in Abeokuta on Tuesday, 28th October 2025.
