Nigeria’s women’s national basketball team, D’Tigress, have named their final 12-player roster for the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup qualifying tournament (FIBAWWC), taking place from 11–17 March 2026 in France, www.aclsports.com reports.

Head coach, Rena Wakama has retained several experienced stars who have been instrumental in Nigeria’s recent dominance in African women’s basketball. Eleven of the players were part of the historic team that defeated Mali in Abidjan to win a fifth consecutive AfroBasket title.

The final roster features:

Promise Amukamara, Elizabeth Balogun, Blessing Ejiofor, Nicole Enabosi, Rita Igbokwe, Ezinne Kalu, Pallas Kunayi, Victoria Macaulay, Murjanatu Musa, Sarah Ogoke, Amy Okonkwo and Ifunaya Okoro.

The players were selected from the 17-player provisional list released in February, with Pius Beggi Idubano, Adenike Olawuyi, Grace Efosa, Wandoo Hemba and Tewogbade Mololuwa missing out on the final squad.

African champions Nigeria head into the qualifying tournament with strong confidence, having already secured qualification following years of continental success alongside a growing reputation on the global stage.

The D’Tigress will begin their campaign in the FIBAWWC against Colombia on 11 March, then face South Korea on 12 March, the Philippines on 14 March, France on 15 March, and Germany on 17 March.

The top three teams in the group will qualify for the Women’s World Cup, which will take place in Berlin, Germany, from 4 to 13 September 2026.
