Maktown Flyers and Rivers Hoopers remain unbeaten after Game Day Five of the 2026 Nigeria Premier Basketball League Final 8 playoffs at the Basketball Stadium in Port Harcourt, www.aclsports.com reports.
Defending champions Maktown Flyers continued their perfect title defence with an 80-76 victory over Aso Sky Hawks, having already qualified for the Final Four. Keita Mohammed starred with 26 points, including five three-pointers, while Micheal Okiki and Paul Dibal both scored 15 points for Aso Sky Hawks.
Hosts Rivers Hoopers also maintained their unbeaten run at home with a 71-61 victory over 313 Warriors. Abel Offia led the Hoopers with 13 points and two rebounds while shooting 83 percent from the field as the Kings Men maintained their 5-0 record alongside Maktown Flyers after five games.
Kano Pillars finally picked up their first win of the Final 8 with an 80-55 victory over Lagos Raptors. Mohammed Musa led the way with 20 points and 11 rebounds, while Yusuf Tanko added 17 points and nine rebounds. Olomola Timothy finished with 11 points and seven rebounds for the winless Raptors.
Gboko City Chiefs staged a strong second-half comeback to defeat Hoops & Read 67-64 and return to winning ways. Dike Azouma led the Chiefs with 19 points and five three-pointers, while Godwin David added 14 points, seven rebounds, three assists and four three-pointers. Oparaugu Okechukwu had 20 points, three rebounds and five three-pointers for Hoops & Read, who remain without a win.
