D’Tigress forward, Amy Okonkwo, marked her WNBA debut on Friday night, stepping onto the court for the Dallas Wings against the Seattle Storm at College Park Center.

Signed earlier in the week on a seven-day hardship contract, Okonkwo made an instant impression. She scored eight points in just nine minutes, shooting 60% from the field, and tied Diamond Miller for the most points by a Wings player off the bench.

Her bright cameo, however, could not stop Dallas from slipping to a heavy 95–60 loss in a season already marked by numerous defeats. Maddy Siegrist led the Wings with 12 points and five rebounds, while rookie Paige Bueckers added 11 to extend her streak of double-digit scoring games to 30.

Seattle’s depth proved decisive, as their bench combined for a franchise-record 62 points, more than the entire Dallas roster. Dominique Malonga led the charge with 22 points, nine rebounds, and three blocks.

Okonkwo will look to build on her encouraging debut when the Wings meet the Golden State Valkyries on Sunday. A strong showing on a hardship contract could further bolster her case for a more permanent role in the WNBA.
