He expressed confidence in the national team, stating they have the potential to go far at the 13th African Games in Ghana, starting on 8th March.

He believes that with a blend of exciting players in the set up, they have the potential to improve on the 2019 edition, when Morocco hosted and Cameroon emerging winners.

Ozokoye said, “We have confidence we can go far in this year’s African Games, but we have to prove it and assure the fans that we can prove ourselves. They can be sure we will make the nation proud.

“I just arrived in Nigeria from my club and the league is currently on which has kept me in top shape, I am the number three best blocker in the league and I hope to bring my A game from club side to the country.

“I believe the squad is almost complete and I am going to train with the other players on Monday to be able to blend with the rest of the team”.

He revealed that it is an honour to be invited for the senior national team for the African Games.

The former NSCDC player said, “It’s a privilege to be invited to this great national team and also to represent my fatherland. I just look forward to playing for the senior national team. It is a great honour to put on the Nigerian green-white-green jersey again”.
