Plateau United head coach Gbenga Ogunbote was frustrated after his side drew 1-1 with Warri Wolves at home in the NPFL on Sunday, reports www.aclsports.com.
The Peace Boys came into the contest seeking their first home win in two attempts and their second win in five league matches, but they met a resolute Warri Wolves side, and both settled for a share of the spoils at the New Jos Stadium.
Following a shock lead by Warri Wolves through Emmanuel Aribogha, Samuel Ayanrinde scored a second-half equalizer for Plateau United, but the Jos-based side were unable to secure maximum points on home soil, leaving Ogunbote frustrated with his players’ inability to convert their attacking efforts into goals.

The experienced tactician attributed the disappointing result partly to anxiety among his players, explaining that their desperation to find the breakthrough affected their decision-making in the final third.
”I think this is an unfortunate draw. There was a lot of anxiety on the part of my boys. They were trying everything hurriedly to make sure we scored. Unfortunately, we were getting it all wrong,” Ogunbote said after the game.
The former Rangers and Shooting Stars coach admitted that dropping points at home was a significant setback for his team, particularly given the importance of securing victories in front of their home fans.
”This is another home draw, and it is a big one against us,” Ogunbote concluded.
Plateau United, who missed the chance to go joint-top with a win, are up to sixth on the log and will now travel to Nasarawa United next weekend in one of the matchday 12 games of the ongoing 2026/27 NPFL season.
