The champions beat the newly promoted side 2-1 to climb into the top four.

Amose Gyang opened the scoring for the host just after the half-hour mark, before Philip Asuquo equalised on the stroke of half time for the visitors.

Emmanuel Odafe restored Plateau’s advantage in the second half, before the away side were reduced to 10 men as Buahri Musa was given his marching orders.

Odafe’s goal, ten minutes after the break, turned out the winner, as the champions won for the first time in three matches.

The victory moved them up to fourth on the table, while Yobe Stars dropped to sixth.

In Calabar, Enyimba proved just too strong for Lagos based outfit, Mountain of Fires and Miracles Ministries, MFM FC.

The People’s Elephants were 2-0 victors, courtesy of two second half goals from Nelson Ogbonnaya and Chinonso Okonkwo.

But just like the game in Jos, the one between the two continental campaigners in Calabar also saw a man sent off, but it was the hosts, Enyimba, who were reduced to ten men following Isiaka Oladuntoye’s  second half dismissal.

The result means Enyimba move up to fifth, level on points with fourth place Plateau, while MFM’s sixth defeat of the season leaves them 10th.
