Enyimba FC midfielder Dayo Ojo has told www.aclsports.com that he is happy with his side’s win over TS Galaxy in their Total CAF Confederation Cup (TotalCAFCC) game on Sunday.

Ojo who joined the People’s Elephant from hometown club Sunshine Stars was handed a start for his debut against the South Africans in their Playoff round first leg game at the Enyimba International Stadium on Sunday.

“I am happy for making my Enyimba debut today (on Sunday) and winning the match,” says the midfielder to www.aclsports.com

“It is not easy to play against a team like Galaxy that keep the ball on the ground and I’m happy the team won and that’s the most important thing for me.”

Ojo, a central attacking midfielder by trade played from a less customary left midfield position in coach Usman Abd’Allah’s 4-1-3-2 formation on the day.

The 25-year old stressed that his positioning on match day was for tactical reasons and he would be ready to adapt to such situations for his new side.

“Playing from the left side of midfield was due to tactical reasons.

“We watched their (TS Galaxy) games and the coach deemed it fit for me to start from that side. We knew that the right side was their strength so we needed to block that side and open our own right side.

“For me it’s okay because I played that position some times when I was in Sunshine Stars and for me as a professional, I have to be able to adapt to these situations,” added the CHAN 2018 star.

Dayo Ojo and his Enyimba teammates will travel to Ota, Ogun State on Tuesday to perfect strategy ahead of Sunday’s second leg game against Galaxy in Nelspruit.
