Nigeria senior male handball team was kicked out of the 2018 African Handball Championship in Gabon after their loss to DR Congo 21-28 points. The loss against the Central Africa country on Friday makes it the third of the tournament.

The male team led by Coach Michael Taanghar recorded 16-29 points against Angola and 22-27 points against Egypt earlier in the week.

Nigeria in group B and Cameroon in group B have both been eliminated from the championship. Nigeria last group game is against Morocco on Monday while Cameroon takes on Gabon.

Algeria, Angola, Congo, DR Congo, Egypt, Gabon Morocco and Tunisia are through to the quarter-finals.
Winners and runners-up of the event will represent Africa at the 2019 World Men’s Handball Championship.
