The CAF Refereeing trio of Akhona Makalima, Diana Chikotesha and Mimisen Iyorhe Calvin-Onwuka will make their Maurice Revello Tournament debut on Wednesday MD 4 for the Panama Vs Argentina Group game.

This 2022 edition of the Tournament is an FIFA Women Referees affair as was explained here by FIFA Referees Manager Kari Seitz to aclsports.com exclusively on the opening day of the tournament.

Another CAF team led by the vastly experienced Lidya Abebe of Ethiopia assisted by Lidwine Rakotozafinoro of Madagascar and Carine Atezambong had been in charge of the Japan Vs Algeria encounter on MD 3. The North Africans lost by a goal to nil.

Apart from being a part of history at this 48th edition of the Maurice Revello tournament, then trio of Makalima, Chikotesha and Calvin-Onwuka have also been selected to officiate at the U-20 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica later in August.
