World record holder Tobi Amusan clocked 12.36s to win her semi-final as she qualifies for the women’s 100m hurdles final at the Tokyo 2025 World Athletics Championships, www.aclsports.com reports.

Amusan, who became the first Nigerian to win a world title in athletics in Oregon 2022, crossed the line ahead of Nadine Visser of the Netherlands, who also advanced with 12.45s. Poland’s Pia Skrzyszowska finished third in 12.53s, progressing as one of the fastest losers.

In the other semi-finals, Grace Stark of the United States stormed to victory in Heat 1 with 12.37s, while her compatriot Masai Russell claimed Heat 3 in 12.42s. Jamaica’s defending champion Danielle Williams showed her class with a smooth 12.44s, and Switzerland’s Ditaji Kambundji matched that mark to secure her spot in the final. The Bahamas’ Devynne Charlton also booked her ticket with a season’s best of 12.51s.

With the final line-up confirmed, Amusan will be joined by Stark, Russell, Williams, Kambundji, Visser, Charlton, and Skrzyszowska in what promises to be a thrilling showdown. The Nigerian, now contesting her fourth consecutive World Championships final, will be aiming to add yet another historic medal to her glittering career.
