Defending champions of the Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL), Bayelsa Queens produced a dominant performance to defeat Naija Ratels 5–0, while Sunshine Queens secured their first win of the season with a 2–0 victory over Dannaz Ladies, www.aclsports.com reports.

At Bwari Township Stadium in Abuja, Bayelsa Queens set the tempo from the start. Kesiena Ojiyovwi opened the scoring in the 12th minute, before Kindness Ifeanyi doubled the lead in the 36th. Substitute Alaba Olabiyi completed a brace with goals in the 73rd and 80th minutes, and Delight Isaac wrapped up the scoring in the 83rd minute.

The win puts Bayelsa Queens just one point behind Group A leaders Adamawa Queens, who have seven points from three matches. Rivers Angels and Edo Queens occupy third and fourth places respectively.

“We’re happy we got the win, but it’s about consistency. We will not relent; we must still push for the ultimate glory,” said Bayelsa Queens head coach Whyte Ogbonda.

Naija Ratels coach Sabo Okala admitted the result was disappointing but remained positive:
“The result was not what we wanted, but my girls will not let this weigh them down. Bayelsa Queens are a strong side, and they took their chances. But my players kept their heads up and kept fighting, and that’s the spirit we carry forward.”

Meanwhile, in Akure, Sunshine Queens claimed their first win of the season in a South West derby at the Akure Sports Complex, defeating Dannaz Ladies 2–0. Both goals came from penalties, converted by Precious Edewor in the 11th minute and Lolade Akintunde in the 43rd. The result marked Dannaz Ladies’ first defeat of the season.

With these results, Matchday 3 ended with Robo Queens topping Group B, while Nasarawa Amazons and Remo Stars continue to lead Group A. Sunshine Queens climbed to fourth place.
