Nigeria junior table tennis player, Shukurat Aiyelabegan told www.aclsports.com that she has began preparations for the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Aiyelabegan revealed that one of her dreams is to feature at the biggest sporting event in the world. The 2019 African Junior Champion said her father is putting her in good shape and ready to attend senior championships in and outside the country.

Aiyelabegan said, “I have begun extensive training and preparations for the Paris 2024 Olympics. The journey of a thousand miles begins with a step and I am already taking that step towards greatness.

“The dream of every active player is to feature at the Olympic Games which is the biggest sporting event in the world. I know God will definitely make my dreams come true.

“My father who is my coach is putting me in good shape. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown, my training was not halted. I am ready to attend senior championships in and outside the country to garner points”.

Aiyelabegan revealed that current African number one is her role model in the sport.

She said, “In every sports, athletes do have role model and my own role model is Aruna Quadri. He is a great player and I am lucky to be among the players he kits”.
