Shooting Stars head coach Edith Agoye says his side were able to seize control of the game in order to beat their Nigeria Professional Football League matchday four opponents Katsina United on Monday.

The Oluyole Warriors hosted the Changi Boys in front of a packed crowd in Ibadan and needed a second-half goal from substitute Wasiu Alalade to claim all three points – their first win of the campaign.

While speaking after the game, Agoye felt that his side were wasteful in front of the goal despite having control of the game.

“Today, we were able to possess the ball, we were able to be in control most of the time. When we have the ball, when we did not have the ball, we were able to be in control,” began the former striker to journalists after the game.

“Gradually, the boys are settling down to playing in the NPFL. We are very happy as well that we created some chances today, but at least we were able to score one of those chances.”

Going forward, the tactician is hopeful that his side can get better at converting their chances.

“From now on, we hope that the team can improve at the aspect of converting chances,” Agoye added.

Shooting Stars, who have garnered five points from their first four games, will be guests of Enyimba next Sunday.
